Beyond awareness there has to be an infrastructure that will support tourism.  This is taking shape now and the potential is great.  Thus investment at this point in time is both crucial to tourism growth and of a good return to investors and entrepreneurs alike.

Ghana has an economy that is growing in real terms and inflation is not excessive.  Political stability and the rule of law is good.  It is peaceful and has strong and positive links with the United Kingdom.  The nearest English speaking country on the West coast of Africa, that already has a large tourism industry, is The Gambia but it has limitations due to the physical size of the country.

New tourism related businesses and construction projects are the way forward.  Generally speaking we are talking about small ‘low cost projects or businesses’ that effectively support what tourists would want to buy or to do in a location of their choice .... but there are some larger projects that you might like to consider.  See below.

SMALL tourism based projects ....

For example bike hire, hiking or camping equipment, or sea or river /lake fishing where specialist equipment is necessary for short periods of time and so can be rented at low cost. Other ‘sports’ such as the development of sailing, water skiing on Lake Volta, quad biking, off-roading, parascending or paragliding etc etc should also be considered as they are very popular pastimes with tourists.

Construction of low cost ‘beach hut’ or ‘log cabin’ type and/or self catering accommodation that is available for rent can also be a viable investment.

LARGE tourism based projects ....

For example the project to rejuvenate Elmina in Central Region in order to make it a thriving centre for tourists to visit ....  Request a copy of the following Proposal, by e-mailing TRAVELagenda so that you can check out what this project could mean for you as an Investor or Service Provider .....

Simply post your business ideas on this website and TRAVELagenda will endeavour to find an investor that will help you get the business off the ground, in line with tourism growth and general requirements.

So this is the opportunity that is available today, before the ‘big boys’ move in.  As business people and investors alike, this is exactly where you can determine your commercial objectives and make money on the back of tourism, which is the biggest industry in the world as a whole !
